Become an Arizona Notary and Signing Agent Basic requirements; 18- yrs of age Legal resident of Arizona Read & write English Pass state exam if required (Arizona is starting to require tests for new Notaries and renewing Notaries. 1. Complete the online web-based application at www.azsos.gov 2. Print and wet sign the application 3. Obtain a 5K bond (Bonding Company, Insurance Company, or Notary organization) 4. Submit application, Bond and fee ($25 app and $18 filing fee) to SOS via snail mail (ensure your printed name matches on the app & Bond as well as the signatures) 5. 4 – 6 week processing time If accepted, Notarial Commission will be sent by mail to the address on the application. Your commission term is for 4-years This commission certificate must be presented to your stamp maker when ordering your seal.
